2011-12 Kent Gardens PTA Budget
In the 2011-12 school year, the PTA expects to generate revenue of $229,590. The total revenue includes almost $100,000 from After School Academies and Summer Academies. Since the PTA’s revenue and spending must be equal, the PTA has also budgeted $229,590 in expenses. Included in the expected spending is $70,000 in direct expenses for After School and Summer Academies.
The Kent Gardens PTA’s largest net income sources are:
$20,000 Armchair Fundraiser
$18,000 Summer Academies
$9,000 After School Academies
$8,000 March Madness
$8,000 Membership
$5,000 Carnival/Fun Fete
$5,000 Square One Art
The PTA’s largest contributions to Kent Gardens Programs are:
$20,000 Stem Support. As part of continually improving the educational experience of our children, Kent Gardens will continue to integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives into the curriculum in the 2011-12 school year. Those initiatives would not be feasible without significant support from the PTA.
$18,000 Teacher Fund. The average teacher in the United States spends over $1,000 of their own money buying supplies for the classroom. The PTA will continue to contribute over $300 to each teacher at Kent Gardens for classroom supplies and materials.
$13,000 Field Trips. The Fairfax County Public School System does not pay for buses, drivers or fuel for field trips. The PTA provides transportation for several field trips per year for each grade level at Kent Gardens.
$7,700 Classroom Materials. Each year, the PTA supplements the money budgeted by Kent Gardens for classroom materials.
$7,500 SOL Remediation. It is vital that all the students at Kent Gardens meet the minimum requirements set forth by the State of VA for the VA Standards of Learning (SOL). The PTA dedicates funds to provide all children at KGES with the opportunity to prepare for the tests in an enriching environment.
$6,000 Technology Support. Working technology is an essential part of all our children’s education. The PTA contributes over $13,000 to supporting technology each year. Our support ensures that Kent Gardens can have a full-time technology specialist on staff.
