“Odyssey of the Mind” is a program that promotes creative thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills through fun challenges and 115f13a1-4af7-447c-bd5f-05ece4a01fe3-thumbnailactivities for students, culminating in a regional competition against other schools in our area.

Students will practice using divergent thinking, planning, and teamwork to solve long-term, creative problems, incorporating a wide area of interests.  Solutions might involve designing and building a vehicle or structure, or creating and performing a skit or musical.  Students will also practice using creativity to solve spontaneous problems involving improvisation.

In our meetings, we will work to develop divergent thinking and teamwork with activities such as brainstorming, restating problems, and role-playing.   Students will practice identifying challenges, thinking “out of the box” for possible solutions, and working together to design and create their final products, which will be presented at the regional competition on Saturday, March 3, 2018.  We will have fun exploring our talents and abilities while looking at the world in new ways!

You can learn more about the program here: http://www.odysseyofthemind.com/

*Students must be able to commit to be at the tournament on Saturday, March 3, 2018.  Rules governing team membership are very strict. Team members must be able to depend on each other.
